What does it mean when the siren in the Cape goes off?
Skagit County Emergency Management has a siren in the Cape. They currently plan to set off a test alarm the second Monday of every month at 6pm. You can get more information on these sirens at the Skagit County Emergency Management website, you can find links right here on the community links page. Check out the 'sirens' button. There you will find samples of test siren sounds, and announcement sounds. It will also tell you the current testing schedule for the alarms.
When are assessments due and how should I pay?
Assessments are paid annually and due May 31st every year. You can pay by mailing in your check with the lot number (to the address on the CONTACTS page), or by stopping by the office. Cash, Check or card is available. There is a 3.5 % plus .30 cents card processing fee for credit / debit cards. * Returned checks are subject to a Non-sufficient funds fee with a future restriction of payment by cash or card required.
How are my payments applied?
Payments are applied to late fees and interest first, then the cost of collections (including legal fees) next and assessments last.
Are renters considered members?
The membership of an association at all times shall consist exclusively of the owners of all real property over which the association has jurisdiction, both developed and undeveloped.
What are the office hours?
The office address and open hours are listed on the CONTACT page on this site and outside the office. Hours may vary due to weather, season, holiday or illness.
How can I find records that my septic system is in compliance with Skagit County inspection laws?
Cape Horn requires proof that your septic is in compliance with Skagit County laws as to inspection and maintenance. Or, if no septic that you provide proof of lawful waste disposal from your site. (waste tank pumping, RV dumping at a dump station, etc.) If you have a septic you can access your inspection records at either the Skagit County Property Search records, or you can find a link on the DOCUMENTS page of the Cape Horn website... www.capehornmaintco.com, look for the link 'Find my septic records' located near the bottom of the DOCUMENTS page.
What should I do if I spot a burned out street light?
You can call or come by the office, or use the 'contact' form on this site to report any issues in the Cape Horn community, ask questions or make suggestions. Contact the office about any questions, concerns or suggestions you may have.
How can I get a copy of the board meeting minutes?
After transcribing and approving the minutes they will be posted on the Documents page on this site where you can review them. All documents are confidential and only available to members of the Cape Horn Community.
